As you all know as we get closer and closer to picking up our RV I’m freaking out more and more. A couple is coming to pick up the last of our couches today and I dragged myself out of bed to get dressed. Then out of the blue a thought hit me; no one has ever asked us this question:

Have we ever RV’d before?

Maybe that’s a good thing because the answer is — No! It’s true, I haven’t been camping since ‘99 and I have never overnighted in an RV. The same goes for CM. I just wanted to put that out there for those who think that we’re outdoorsy people who like to live off the land. Nope!

We’re just two crazy kids with a dream.

What is most important in life? That is the basic question my family is dealing with. When I look on my life the things I cherish are the things I’ve done, not the things I have bought. Although possessions are great in the moment, I never look back and say remember when we had that TV? Memories of experiences, good and bad, make me who I am, and are the things I value most.

Sometimes it is good to test yourself to see what you can handle. Not that I really feel this is that big of a challenge. It is more of an experience. So given the choice of this adventure or sitting in my house and looking at the things my family and I have acquired, I will take the adventure. The memories my family will create are priceless. Things come and go.

When the time comes, my family will settle back into a “normal” life. But for now I look forward to what lay ahead.
